Poetic Soul

I use to believe
That poetry wasn't for me.
But now I see
It's a way to feel free.

My life fell apart
A couple months back.
This boy without a heart
Took advantage and attacked.

The only way for me
To cope was with paper and pen.
That was when poetry
Came in, because of men.

Now it's a lifestyle
What I call a choice.
Even though my past was vile
I can finally have a voice.
