Poetry
It all started in 4th grade,
I got a poem published,
Thought I had it made
I was so proud, so happy, but it didn’t last long;
It slowly grew on me
As an addiction,
I was writing so many poems, care free
Poems about success, glory and even affliction;
I strived for the mountain top,
I fought so desperately to succeed,
The urge to grow like a tree,
Little did I know, I was still a seed;
I began to read, to learn from the best;
Robert Frosts Fire and Ice,
Walt Whitman’s Leaves of grass,
They were all very nice;
Poetry turned my life around,
I learned about the road not taken,
I learned about hope, the thing with feathers,
But overall I learned how to touch ones heart;
Through poetry
Something wrong with this poem?
