Maybe this poem writing thing isn't for me Maybe I just like to rhyme Maybe I just do it because I'm bored Or to kill some of my spare time I write the things I can't say I write the things you'll never know I write the things that give me feeling And I write the things that'll help me grow I write because it's therapeutic I write to influence a generation I write because it's creative And I write because one word can change a nation I write because I'm hurt I write so I'll never have to cry I write because I know it could be worst I write so even when I'm gone my words will never die But what if these poems aren't good enough What if these poems aren't meant for you to see What if these poems could never be right Because the real poet isn't me.
