Poetry Is

Poetry is

The steady palpitation of a dreamer’s beating heart

It’s that stunning and odd cacophony of an orchestra just beginning tuning

A woman who knows that her purpose on this earth is more than any man will allow

Ugly faces everyone makes in the mirror when no one is around

Ageless

The clinking of our glasses, a toast!  to all things good and true!

Midnight snack that taste more like Thanksgiving dinner

Life through life through life through life through my eyes through your eyes and back again

Leaky faucet

Falling down the stairs just before you wake up in a dream

Practicing the waltz and stepping on her toes, but she forgives you, she knows you too well

Taping things back together when they rip

Poetry is where I’m from

Poetry is where I’m going
