Poetry

Poetry is a calming sensation Fills my body with light so pure and bright When all alone I think of creation Every fiber comes alight with much might They laugh, they tease, they don't understand me But with poetry I'm not alone I write, I think, then it all completes thee I can do it all; they're just sticks and stones But those who first laughed, shocked me with their thought They wiped their face with the palm of their sleeve And said "I've never heard poems like that" My only reply was to make them leave Poetry is not just a thing to me It's life, love, friendship and my company
