Poetry is...

Poetry is my therapist

Allowing me to tell it all of my problems

Giving me an outlet, there's nothing as rare as this,

With everything laid out, at least Poetry saw them.

Poetry is my lover

Telling her all of my wishes, wants, and desires

I tell her all of my feelings with no cover

Only one I can tell the truth, without fear of the liars.

Poetry is my teacher

Showing me life through a new perspective,

while still having things to teach her,

with expression as the only objective.

Poetry is my air,

without it, I wouldn’t be able to live

I need her, Poetry is the only way I can share.

I only hope I can continue to give
