Poetry

Poetry.

Poetry has helped me expand on my dreams.

Poetry has helped me to explain my deepest emotions.

Poetry you are both a beautiful and a depressing thing.

You see one day I can write about wonders and magic,

The next can be full of situations so tragic.

You help me get out what needs to be said,

Instead of bottling it up to sit in my bones weighing me dead.

You help inspire words for my beloved.

The darkest things come out of hiding,

So I can both cope and fight it.

You help my brain ignite, you help me to get the wording right,

Perhaps even to save a life.

Poetry means a lot to me,

It helps me connect better to express my feelings, to use words to represent the meaning.

You see, I’m not so good at speaking,

But writing makes the words pour out, even leaking.

You help my brain see things clearly.

You help my mind to stop screaming.

You keep my imagination thriving.

You make my passion ignite.

Poetry you are a friend that gives,

You understand me, you never judge.

You listen,

And it feels like a hug.

Your there when I am in need.

It's not just my brain,

But my heart and soul you feed.

Poetry you are full of beauty and yes even cruelty.

But you help me to be me,

You help set me free.

You help me to be happy.
