poetry

music is one of my favorite mediums.

i love singing.

i love listening to rock bands.

but i cannot voice my opinions like that.

i was depressed.

i dreamt of being a musician,

but how could i do that if i couldn’t write a single song?

poetry.

there are no rules.

you can set it to music.

you can make it so the music stops when your point absolutely needs to be heard.

you can use a fast tempo for a fast poem

or a slow tempo for a slow poem.

you don’t need to be able to sing to use music,

and i’m glad i learned that.

in poetry,

you can write lines as long as you want

or as small,

and you can

even

do

it

like

this,

which is very effective if you use it right.

i’ve learned how to use poetry to escape,

which is why many of us listen to music.

i now realize

that i don’t need to be a musician.

i can be a poet.
