Poetry
How can one dislike poetry without sounding like a pessimist?
I guess it’s this idea that every word must be repetitive
But it’s a way of self reflection, suppressing urge and nervousness
To write when it’s not a competition
A poem doesn’t have to be so sad and deep to gather one’s attention
I can be apathetic and sound poetic when it’s really just my voice projection
The use of analogies will profoundly improve or cause confusion to their intellect and
I can spit out thoughts that can blow you away before it ever hits the fan
And expand your attention span without a doubt that my message won’t get across
Poems are like crying and laughing: you get caught up in the moment and then it becomes sort of distracting
As the pen moves swiftly while your mind’s drifting and it’s impossible to become detached
I love how poems aren’t about facts, they’re more so making sense out of the things
That sit abyss in our heads while we continue feeling dreadful
Yet some say poetry is hard, like starting a car without knowing where to go
But the amazing aspect of it is that you paint your own road
And pave the way to greatness without paying a toll
See the air is free, yet somehow it is becoming more dangerous to breathe
Yet with ease my pupils dilate as I read
The things that can’t escape our heads and somehow are translated into words
Poetry is just a blurred reality which I, for one prefer
Something wrong with this poem?
