Poetry
Words,
Dear Poetry,
let me tell you of all the things I thank you for.
The voice that I hide,
I share that with you so loudly, so loudly.
Every word that runs softly off my lips,
Onto a page,
From my mind.
Is a reflection of who I am inside.
I write so that I can feel, and dream, and love.
I write so that who I am, or want to be,
Can be presented in the only way I know how.
Words,
I read them, and they aren’t all just words.
Every syllable is me.
Dear self,
I keep writing so that I can love, and dream,
And be myself.
Words,
Every word has helped me find something inside myself.
Every tear that I dropped on a page, but it never tore,
The erased words still left behind,
The fear, the ease, the longing,
Poetry,
Helped me find something inside myself,
These words, these pages, tell me that I am
Beautiful.
Poetry, tells me that I can
Love.
Words,
I made words, that turned into poetry,
And turned into honesty,
And turned into love,
And turned into the very think I thank poetry for.
I made words, that are so sweet,
I made words that mean something, I made poetry,
I made,
Me.
