Poetry and I

Poetry and Me

By Colleen Preston

Poetry and me

Just simply came to be.

Like wind beneath my wings,

Through poetry, I am free.

My emotions run rapid,

And my cares become vapid,

As a poem comes to life within me.

I can be who I want to be,

When it’s just Poetry and me.

No exact reason or why,

But I feel free and alive

When it’s just Poetry and I.
