Poetry Begets Change

Poetry has been

my friend,

my parent,

my haven.

a place where I could

laugh

cry

vent

express myself.

Over four years,

my life has had

ups

downs

friendships

relationships

breakups

make-ups

forgiveness.

Poetry was there

I’ve learned life can be messy

everything isn’t always perfect.

But,

whether it’s dark and gloomy

or bright and exciting,

whether there are rhymes

or just bursts of thought,

whether it’s your masterpiece

or just a scrap of paper tossed aside.

Poetry will be there

To help you grow

Just like it helped me.
