What color does poetry claim
What music does it make
What feeling does it hide

If poetry was an emotion
Would we feel pain?
Would we feel the joy?
Would we see a different way?

Poetry blues
Down as far as I can go
As high as we'll never know
Out of the soul, it grows

If poetry was a person
Who would it be?
Would it be me?
Or someone who doesn't know
What poetry means?

If poetry was a drug
Would anyone want some?
I got enough to give away
