Poetry Boxing

Why do I write poetry?

Poetry is a vessel,
A vessel to carry your thoughts.
Sometimes I wish
It could carry them further,
So far, in fact,
That I no longer have them.
But the fact is that poetry,
Is really just a way
To express your feelings,
To share your emotions
With others.

Poetry is a way
To emotionally slap someone.
It lets out your anger,
Your frustrations,
In the same way that those
Boxing lessons do.
Oh how I wish I could afford
Boxing lessons.
But since I cannot
I shall flex my brain instead;
Through poetry.

You know what would
Be great?
Poetry boxing.
If only there were
A poetry slam
In which you attacked
A punching bag
While you recited
Your poem.

Or poetry boxing
With another poet,
And everytime you got in
A good line
You could also
Get in a good punch.

If poetry boxing
Were a real thing,
It would be perfect because
You could take out your anger
In an emotional, intellectual way
And in a physically
Satisfying way.

Somebody please persue this.
I'm ready to enter a
Poetry Boxing Slam.
