Poetry Boy


I would like a boy to write me poetry,

Something small, something sweet.

But 'boys aren't like that', 

Mumma said

They want that hunger

To be fed.

 

I would like a boy to write me poetry,

A stanza, maybe one or two.

But 'boys aren't like that',

Mumma sighed

They said they loved you

But they lied.

 

I would like a boy to write me poetry,

Just give me something, anything.

But 'who would do that?'

I ask myself
