poetry the calm
thoughts go unheard
beating drums, heartbeats on the back of the mind
we are
we are writers, dancers, jazz musicians and actors
we cry, laugh and play trumpet
metaphore's crash against us
similes course through our veins
create chaos, beauty
simplicity in the form of a complex string of letters
we know what it says
it spells out who we are
allows us to be there, here, her
everything and everybody that we
are, were and ever will be
poetry is that
its more than that
its the exact distance between your eyes, your hands and your brain
sends spiders running up your arms
tiny thin feet tapping your shoulder, your neck
it causes chills
creates everything you need
quenches, satisfies, allows
we believe in calm
