Poetry Carries Me

I carry your heart, I carry it in mine. With me I carry your worries...and the longing in your eyes. I carry your smile. Sometimes your lack there of. With me I carry your bad days, Because yours are mine. I carry the way you look at me, And see me for who I am. With me I carry our future, And all that is yet to come. I even carry the smell of your t-shirts, And the way you kiss me. I carry the way you make me laugh, And the way I always know what's on your mind. With me I carry our late night talks, And the way you don't let me go. I carry how your hand fits perfect in mine. And the way you walk... With me I carry your touch, You know? The one.. It is something unforgettable. And never fails to take my breath away. With me I carry your passions, And especially your love. And at the end of the day, I want nothing more than to be with you. Because I carry your heart, I carry it in mine. I write because I am in love. That's how it all began, With a simple hello And the painful thought of good bye. My love for him is magical, Perpetually existent. For just as I carry his heart, I carry my words, And thoughts... I carry this, Because poetry carries me...

I wrote this poem to try and universally convey love, but especially the love that runs through my veins. I can only hope that I am found deserving enough for this scholarship. Thank you so much for your time...
