Poetry is a cure

The greatest advice I have ever recieved,

was tucked tightly away in bookshelf seams.

In libraries that smell of a historic aroma,

I've gained hope and ambition,

that lead me to my diploma.

When there was not a single person I felt I could turn to,

I searched in books and in between lines,

to give me the slightest ambitious pursuit.

Words spoken from others can be very compelling,

but when you enter a state of solitude,

words being read are much more understood.

Poetry is a form of natural medicine,

that cured my reckless thoughts.

On days I thought I had enough,

I read a passage that made my days less rough.
