Poetry is Education

Poetry...

For me, it was emotions in the forms of words. In my early teens years, it was sanctity. 

I can read a 300 page novel and gain nothing. 

Reading poetry takes me places. They speak of adventure and love and political issues. They speak about rape culture and a crow at your window. 

There is a beauty in the words.

The words are intricately woven like quilts. Masterfully thought out and connected. 

There is so much safety and love I find from poets' words, it feels like home.
