Poetry equals expression

Somebody asked, what is poetry to me

Poetry is a way to express, don't you agree

Sometimes I talk about the ones I hate

Or sometimes I can confess to the ones I want to date

Give me a subject, any subject it doesn't matter

Give me about 10 minutes to think on the subject and I will flatter

Making it rhyme at the end of every line will make it seem clever

Hope this gift of poetry will leave me never

I some poems are meant for you and anybody to hear

Others are meant for nobodys ear

I decided to make a talent out of this gift

And through my lyrics, emotions will lift

I'm a poet or a rapper without music and flow

Just one of the ones spreading a more positive message though

Like writing about love or actually making America great again

More on topics where everyone will win

I don't know where my poetry started but I'm glad it came

I don't need it for money or for fame

Like I said before poetry is for me

Because poetry is a way to express, don't you agree

This is for the "what do poetry and being a poet mean to you?" scholarship but is still true.
