Poetry (A Haibun)
Poetry
A Haibun
It all began with a single book. And then another, and another. From the pages of those stories my love for words and writing bloomed.
It started with ideas. Ideas that were written between the lines of notebooks and on scraps of paper. My love for writing quickly grew, as those ideas turned into stories written down or verbally shared.
It had started with books and led to stories. But those stories and writings could only go so far. You can only express so much emotion when sharing details of a story.
It happened in my third-grade class. We learned about haikus and other simple forms of poetry. A whole new door had been opened.
It has come to a point where I have matured as a writer. I can describe my stories in greater detail and with greater emotion. No matter how hard I try, though, they will never capture the true emotion I can find in my poetry.
Something so unique,
It can’t be described with words.
That magical verse.
