Poetry has taught me that not everything has an end or a beginning

Poetry has taught me that even in the darkest of days the sun will continue to reappear

Poetry has taught me that my words are mine and no one can take them away

Poetry has shown me that I am strong enough to overcome what’s in my mind

Through poetry I have seen the sinners turn to saints

Through poetry I have created warriors out of the wounded

Poetry has taught me that I am someone even though the world has shown me different

Poetry has saved my life more than once

And will continue to help me bloom
