Poetry is there.

It is always open,

And it is always fair.

Like a mother,

Poetry is there.

It will always accept you,

No matter what you dare.

Like a father,

Poetry is there.

It will always help you,

And it will always care.

Like a brother,

Poetry is there.

It is always by my side,

And it is always aware.

Like a pet,

Poetry is there.

It is always there to vent,

When everyone else would just stare.

Poetry is always there,

When I am in need.

When I am down,

Poetry will do a good deed.
