Poetry & I

When you feel too much to speak
Just close your eyes and dream
Of a place you feel strong and free
That is what poetry is to me

When no one understands
Pick up a paper and a pen
Write all your troubled thoughts upon here
Poetry has been my lending ear

All that I've been through on a piece of paper
I lay here like an open book
With nothing to hide or be ashamed of
Poetry gave me strength when no one else would
