Poetry: Language's Sweet Mystery
It is the sound of your heart as it beats to be heard
It is the rhythm that speaks as quiet as the mocking bird
it can be loud or soft; tart or sweet
reconnecting the dots with the pen as your feet
Poetry; language's sweet mystery
the funny way of words to make my many dreams
to place my feelings on life's soft paper
only to be relieved by language's silent savior
poetry; as beautiful as a blooming flower
is as calm, wild, or serene as its writer
as wild as you make, the silence you break it
it is poetry; it is your mystery
dictionaries and thesauruses aren't much use to you
because you are the master of creating whats true
you trace a path of your own design
making melodies with words that magically come to rhyme
it is your puppet and you are the puppeteer
creating the art that many hold near
through the fluid slur of words
you paint your picture to let your story be heard
