Poetry is me
The power of poetry can be a the power of saving a life,
It may sound over dramatic, but it's certainly not a lie,
Just a young kid, i was 12 going threw a tough time,
My father an addict, and my mother a victim telling me the constant lie "i'm fine."
12 year old, i had no say, unless it was to myself,
i turned to my black book to see if it'd help,
Poems aren't all about the ryhmes, but about a story they tell,
But ass you can see, i always had a thing for ryhming (that was unintentional),
i just knew that once i picked up a pencil and let it onto the paper,
I'd imagine the fighting and arguments turning into water vapor,
All the problems would lift off the page, and float away,
I wouldn't have to worry about what anyone said or did,
This writing helped me to grow into a strong minded kid,
By the age of 15 my mom packed up and left,
My dad thought it was a test, until he realised himself he was a mess,
Here I am 5 years and 7 black books filled with poems later writing to start a life of my own,
Poetry will always be a part of me,
It's something i've seen to not grow apart from, because it's always there when problems come,
I probably won't understand how words on paper give me this sense of tranquility,
Maybe because it's all spoken out of reality,
I don't know, but im destined to find out,
But as for now, life, love, and strength is all i'll wonder about.
