Poetry To Me

Poetry has taught me who I am

I started off with Sam I Am

Eating Green Eggs and Ham

Poetry as helped me through, Given me a clue

To the good things in this messed up world

With finding myself , And who I could be

Now i can see

Through the eyes of a writer

Not a watcher, Not a seer

But a dooer

Poetry has got me through the night

When I'm full of fright

When i have no might

It pushes me through

When it gets too loud, and it gets too rough

Poetry has taught me to be tough

Even when I've had enough

I know I can write, when my mind is open

I write and I play

But I'm still hoping

That it makes a difference one day

To me, to you

To the woman in the shoe

Here's to reaching to when

So another day it'll help me again
