Poetry is Me

Poetry is a part of me,

My escape from daily life,

Poetry is the key,

To get away from daily strife,

Life gets hard,

I tend to run away and hide,

My vision is marred,

But then poetry is kind,

My feelings flow,

The paper fills,

As I feel better the writing slows,

My mind mills,

Another creation has been made,

Sometimes they are happy and alive,

Others are dark like from a cave,

Although I learned to thrive,

and that is when Poetry became me
