Poetry: More Than Just Words

Poetry expresses the words

   I cannot seem to verbalize.

It lets me think about what I need to say,

   so you cannot ostricize.

Poetry makes my heart soar.

   It provokes emotion.

It forces you to think about what you'll say,

   such a sadly forgotten notion.

I do not remember the first instince

   where I made words rhyme.

Pictures let you see the past, but words

make you feel what you did back in time.

Poetry is more than words,

more than scribbles on a page.

It's something that required work and thought,

bringing your emotions out of their cage.
