poetry, my first love

i fell in love with her at an early age

i fell hard for her the first time her name came out of my mouth

the first time i picked up a pencil and designated a notebook

she has this way of always showing me what I need to know

where I need to go

and what I should do

when the direction that I should go in isn't completly clear

she is the thing that levels out my irrationality

allows me to see situations with a nuanced objectivity

she always makes everything better

and has been improving the quality of my life since about six

she taught me everything that I need to know

she is elegant

every word she says rolls of the tongue

every word she writes flows off the page

she's oh so elusive

everchanging

a concept you'll forever be chasing

she is an idea you'll never be able to fully grasp in the most beautiful way
