Poetry is my therapy

My writing is broken wisdom Mended with heart break My hands write , what my heart cannot grasp My mind speaks to loud and too fast for my pen to write I am writer but my words are easily spoken my poetry doesnt come so easily to me It takes me time to explain how i am feeling But the stage ...it understands me And when i have to share my work with a new audience it feels like my first time preforming My hands Trimble like an earthquake And my voice cracks and misses words like a. Record player But i write because poetry is my therapy To vent on a page then poor my heart out on a stage is better than getting 30 when scoring But screw poetry for making me so damn emotional Although theres saying called , The point is not the point its the poetry I try to keep that in mind as i start performing, but its hard to remember when the judges show their scoring So at times i feel as though i should give up writing... and maybe poetry isn't for me, but as i got to thinking i could write without Sharing my feelings I think of the first time attending a slam I listened to the girl As she compares the breathing of refried beans to the unplugging of a loved one she was only 16 Her story helped me cope with my own tradegy This is why i started writing Hoping to connect with someone in the audience is much better than winning a slam for the night Helping others end their rage and mend their days is amazing to think that it all started with me Poetry is my therapy Its helped me get through the darkest of times When i thought i was alone it opened so many new doors So i wanna Thank you poety for teaching my hands that they can make the most beautiful of quotes Thanks you for showing me I'm never alone And thank you for making me so damn emotional
