Poetry Is My Voice
Love has its many ups and downs,
Plenty days filled with many smiles and some with frowns,
Emotions and a surge of thoughts race constantly through my brain,
At times I feel I might go insane,
When I’m around him, I can’t figure out the words to say,
In private the words of my heart are as beautiful and pure as a white dove soring the sky on a warm
Summer day,
Poetry became my voice,
See I’m the shy type,
Rather be alone, calm, laid back, drama free, never hype type,
Girls like me usually go unnoticed by most guys,
But he drew me in with his dreamy hazel eyes,
Admiring him from afar,
I never imagined he’d be the one to scar my heart,
Poetry was my voice,
Love trapped me like a dog in a cage,
Lies, mistreatment, and deceit changed my love into rage,
I’m constantly praying to the man up above for better days,
And most of all to change my ways,
I no longer fear the unknown,
Nor am I afraid to be alone,
Because poetry is my voice
