Poetry Is A Person

Poetry is an art

with which I can turn pain into beauty 

and messes into wonders

Poetry is my comfort

A safe place where I can vent 

and never feel judged or misunderstood

Poetry is my best friend

The one I turn to with all my problems

The one with whom I can be my truest self

The person with whom I can always express myself

Poetry is my love

who I pour my heart into 

and hold onto tightly to

who I share my most intimate thoughts with

and tell my most beautiful words

Poetry is not just a style of writing

It is a person

Alive and breathing

Heart beating

With the emotions 

Of the world
