Poetry is Therapy

Some lessons in school

Come and go

Others however

Help you to reap and sow

Poetry is a tool that

Has many uses

The reason I love it, it helps

Cope with life’s abuses

“Time heals all wounds”

That’s what they say

It may be true, but

There had to be a faster way

Words and rhymes help

To bleed infection from the soul

Burdens lift from my weighted heart

And once again, I’m made whole

Meditation and therapy

All wrapped into one

Is my habitual medication

With every tale that’s spun
