Poetry from within

I had never liked poetry 

Until one day when my teacher told me

We would have to write three poems for a grade

And that left me asking for some aid

My teacher sat down with a smile

And told me to write whatever my heart desired

I wrote about what was troubling my heart

And in the end my peom was my own work of art

Each poem that is written is more than just words

It isn't something written by just nerds

Poetry comes from within

And now, it leaves me with a grin
