Poetry's Student
I sit and wait and idle by
When I hear a soft lullaby.
It was soft and sweet
and much complete,
with no better words being said.
I would close my eyes and lay my head,
in a field of imagination
in the works of a great creation.
I open my eyes and begin to toil
with inspiration coming out of the soil.
I began to think of what I've learned
and what I would give back in return.
I would make great works of my thoughts
using the strategies of what has been taught
upon to me
for all those to see.
To voice what needs to be heard
the words of freedom that have been blurred.
I have been taught that this is a way
for me to voice what I need to say
to different types of people
from the poor peasant to the mighty regal.
