Poetry's True Meaning

What is the point of poetry?

Is it to inspire?

It shined a light on me,

Like a glowing ball of fire

What does it do?

Does it make dreams come true?

Or does it give you the might,

The strength of which you can fight

Where does it come from?

The pencil held with a thumb?

Or from the brain and the heart,

Because poetry is a beautiful art

Poetry is gold,

It will stay until I’m old,

Filled with words that are bold,

Can send shivers to make you cold
