A poet's poetry in a poem

Poetry

A way to describe

In so many words,

Or too many words,

The way someone feels or thinks.

An experience

Using metaphors and similes

A comparison that I never thought of

Until I read that poem.

The words twist around in my head,

Swirls around my head,

In front of my eyes

And I’m able to visualize

Exactly what the poet

Was trying to convey.

There are ways

                That

A             poem

Can be

Constructed

That helps convey a

M E A N I N G

That can only be seen

[Or read dramatically]

Through poetry.

Sometimes I can only think clearly

And freely

When I think in terms of prose

Or when I try to rhyme

(although, poems don’t need to rhyme).

Free or constricted

Rhyme or not

A poem

Is a method

Of expression

That allows you

To express,

To define,

To communicate,

To convey,

The words in your mind

So that others can experience

Your experience.
