Point Blank

I stand poised, prepared for it to run
You construct a wall and call it done
As I crumble from your fear's earthquake
Your decisions strike me at point blank
I act on your every whim
Your attempt at happiness only sets mine to dim

My issue is the separation
And you've locked me behind closed doors
My nails are bloodied
And it's not like you've never done this before
My wits are at the end
And you said you can't think of me as a friend

The blade continues to draw near
I willingly expose some flesh
So the sharp tip may sear with pain
And the skin is broken, no longer meshed
It's all because of you, my dear
How does that make you feel?

The metal is hollow and black
An explosion propels a spiraling bullet
Which then burrows into my body
And I fall back
As smoke drifts from your gun
I am prepared for blood to run
Because I've been shot at point blank

Every wall can become a door
With just a few more bullet holes
Fired close together at point blank
