The Poison

I drank the poison Just 'coz it was sweet. Thought I'd Just do it once then quit. But I did it twice, Then thrice And finally got addicted. Addicted to that Shit that kills silently Addicted to that Shit I only do privately. Rejected the antidote 'coz it was bitter, Rejected the only way I could get better. Knew one day I'd have to pay the price But didn't know it'd be that expensive 'coz My freedom was the sacrifice How can death be this attractive? But I paid anyway And sold myself as a slave. Didn't know I was digging my own grave, Didn't know I'd regret it someday. Now I'm starting to feel the effect 'coz My mind has started to defect, My life has started to deflect, Acting shocked but what did I expect?

This talks about addiction. You know it's poison, you know it's killing you. But you keep on drinking anyway.
