the poison that strikes us all

Love,

It is like drinking posion and letting it burn your throat as it goes down.

It disguises itself as something enjoyable,

until it touches your lips, but by then it's too late, the damage is done.

But instead of dying, I just crumple to the floor in complete darkness,

like a worn out sweater sitting in the back of the closet, forgotten.

No strength after being destroyed by the one thing I thought would make me happy.

Until the sadness became too much to handle,

so I just screamed out the pain.

But instead of noise coming out of my lips, words came out,

and filled the air around me, every emotion formed a sentence.

Finally every ounce of pain felt lighter in my aching chest.

Giving me a chance to breathe until the next wave of darkness came around.
