political theory
you expect me to smile while you enumerate
all the ways i am worthless and in return i
plot the right lines of your bones
and graph how to expel your guts
from the rotting carcass you clothe in glitter.
with your textbooks that provide relief for
the mottled pile of shit you call a heart,
you clarify my experiences and how i
could have prevented the bruises blooming upon my face.
as your sparkling teeth chatter a prophecy of my future,
i wind a lever your words inserted into my elbow
and as i shade in the shadow of your broken head
i walk away and you continue rattling away in the empty cave you call a brain.
