Politics

Ecclesiastes 7:19 New English Translation (NET Bible)

Wisdom Needed Because No One is Truly Righteous

19 Wisdom gives a wise person more protection
than ten rulers in a city.

Politics

When we call mediocrity greatness

and great, we call sublime.

When the average is called exceptional

and that happens all the time.

When common is said to be very good

and pretty good superb.

Then we know failing is very near

unless the government we curb.

When politicians feel they are superb

and most think they are sublime.

In our observance, we belch and burp

and act like all is “mighty-fine”.

They tell us, the people, we’ll bounce back,

for that is the American way.

They can screw up and catch no flack

for the people who have no say.

They are probably right for power sells

to whosoever pays the most.

It can't be the American people

for they are bouncing from coast to coast.

So if you are bouncing up and down

don't stop when you hit the ground.

For being still in one place too long

gives an opportunity for another round.
