Pomegranate
Without you what would I be able to do?
The warmth that comes from your smile, through the gap centered as perfect as it can be
Covers me from head to toe
That warmth is my protection
Using it as my shield, from anything malicious
The love that flows like a river even when you yell at me
And when I fall
No matter how far I am, you always manage to be the cushion that catches me
You are the stars that hover above us on a clear night
The brightest one of them all
Watching me from afar
If I were a ship lost in a sea of treacherous waves
You are the lighthouse that will always guide me to safety
The flower I pick that never wilts
The green that flourishes everywhere in the world
The village that raised me
My reflection when I look into the mirror
The chocolate curls that cascade down my face like a waterfall
The pomegranate of my life
Tough and firm on the outside
Complex within
But always bittersweet
You are my father
And without you what would I be able to do?
