Pompeii

The lost souls around the broken town

There was hardly any sound

There was another rumble in the distance

The panic settled in again and there was no resistance

As I closed my eyes another part of shock sunk in

The mountain erupted again.

Darker than night, the cloud came over us

Sooner than dawn we would all fall and be dust

Those walls kept tumbling down

In this town we loved.

There was nowhere to go and nowhere to end.

Where do we begin?

We would never win

This mountain that brought the darkness upon

Oh where did we go wrong?
