Ponce de León
Let us dance in revelry,
Chalices to our lips.
Immemorial, the fountain,
From which springs forth the nectar of ages.
The clock frozen,
gears fitted so still.
Its brittle arms quiver.
Let us leave them to rust.
We march proudly on,
Leaving our old friend.
Our faces aglow,
Bodies rebirthed.
Don’t fear the sunset,
We are the twilight of days.
The flame bids goodbye,
But from embers, the light never falters.
Cherish the gift of St. Augustine,
Waste not a drop of youth.
Let us drink to the halt of life,
And forget that time moves on.
