Ponderous

I sit and ponder on the bathrone

the way things ought to be

I stress and post a solid comment

on how they are actually

I create a lot of my best thinking

while squatting there alone

though many things are shrinking

my mind it comes and goes'

it's not a logical chain of thought

at least most of the time

more a thread of free association

mismatched sort of rhyme

I contemplate a most proper end

or some pragmatic goal

but where it is my mind will trend

is a complicated guess

I struggled to form and cast about

for just the right conclusion

but all the struggle and the casting

only lead to a contusion

I sit and ponder on the bathrone

the way things ought to be

but as it happens now sometimes

no answer comes to me
