Porque Te Amo

Porque Te Amo Bebe

Like Abuelita's comida

The words should

Taste as sweet

As red enchiladas

What is served

Instead  bruises

Tanned skin

Porque Te Amo Bebe

Should pump

Sunlit honey through

Your veins and

Fill your eyes with stars

But with a few

Simple

Words she hangs

From your pinky

Finger

Porque Te Amo

She shatters

Friendships in vain

For you,

Scrubbing her body with

Jagged glass

Her own exfoliation routine

For you

Porque Te Amo

Porque Te Amo

Porque Te-

Because I loved you,

No longer

Will these words

Echo

In my brain

Because I loved you,

No longer

Can I mistake Love

With Hate

Because I loved You,

I know I can trust this smile

Because I loved You,

Forgiving never hurt so good

Because I loved You,

I learned to love

Myself,

Jagged scars and all

Goodbye Bebe
