A Portrayal of My Insides
Engulfed by a shadow,
rhyming brings upon some light.
In the midst of all the darkness,
my insecurities under the limelight.
In the course of my life,
stupidity is abundant.
If nonexistence was possible,
let's just say I hate to sound redundant.
Forced to contribute to society
despite my mental incapacity.
Tossed into a prison,
my brain all shaken up,
you gotta live ten different realities!
Intimidated. Not allowed to say I'm not okay.
Pure pressure by some voices inside my head.
Why do I seem so calm?
Calm? Calm? Calm?
Take this cool facade.
I look like the sky but hold the ocean in my palm.
Forced to contribute to society--wait did I already say that?
They're tryna agitate me, aggravate me, how long can I take that?
I'm existing, but I've been dead for 3 years.
Inactive. All I hear are those altered sound waves between my ears.
Eternal darkness? Only but a wish.
Looking for a feeling found at the bottom of a ditch.
They all wear earphones. I've dropped subtle hints.
Take off the blindfold, the words are tangled between my lips.
And you can see the plead of death in my eyes!
And it's frightening because they look at me like I'm alright.
Apparently, I don't execute and that constitutes I'm all write.
Cut open my chest, who wants my life?!
My shoes are worn, but I'll walk soul less to see the light!
Soul less to see you one more time.
Soul less to reach the day I die.
My heart is a mirror.
With no light, no reflection.
A portrayal of my insides.
