Positively Negative

In the morning, I wake up to wonder

“How will I waste this day today?”

I can’t say that I’m a positive person

In fact I am negative, looking down on life.

Like Sadness from Inside out,

I can’t help to ponder on life’s output.

To wonder what life will have for you today.

“Will I fail this test today?

“Will my crush find someone else?

“Will today be the day I stand up for myself?”

No, I didn’t fail.

Yes, they found someone else.

No, I put everyone else before myself.

But,

That doesn’t matter because

It was the highest I ever gotten in that class, 84%, a B.

I’m glad they’re happy because they made me happy.

And no I will never stand up for myself,

I don’t need to prove the points of people who put me down

When they should had lifted me up.

Instead, I will let them be and be happy with myself.

Because I am positively negative.

I can’t change that but it prepares me,

For without the horrible things, you can’t be awesome.
